Biography of Sharon Haddy, founder of “Principally Speaking”

I have been given so many wonderful opportunities for service in Public Education: Supervisor of Mentor Teachers, GATE Coordinator, Fine Arts Coordinator, Administrator Special Ed./Staff Development, Balanced Literacy Coordinator, Director of Reading Specialists, Reading First Director, Director of Curriculum, Teacher, Principal, and Professor. When one reads the list it appears to be many tasks, when in reality they are all one mission with many titles. My mission in the field of education has always been the development and implementation of sound curriculum and instruction that is based in cutting edge research. I have worked with different staffs in methods to identify, target and set goals for the improvement of test scores, as well as, grade level standards. I have assisted educators in identifying problems in the integration of different programs and personnel and in setting and reaching goals that will improve the desired integration. Curriculum and Powerful Instruction has always been my passion. I teach curriculum research and innovation to graduate and undergraduate students; I have studied curriculum as a teacher and mentor teacher; I have worked with teachers and administrators as a principal, coordinator, and director of curriculum, and my now my journey as an Educator has led me to Professional Development. Powerful curriculum, teacher empowerment, data analysis to inform instruction and knowledge of research and effective programs are the keys to documented student success.  To assist educators in reaching the goal of “success for all children” is the goal I have set for my profession. My personal philosophy is that all students are able to learn and that educators must stop making excuses; they must find the key that unlocks the secret to success for all students. I have assisted educators in improving student achievement and test scores in every District with which I have been affiliated. I would be delighted to assist your organization in the achievement of the goals you have set.
